Good to know

For international students (non-Canadians who need a study permit) in their final year of secondary school, or who graduated recently, starting their first undergraduate degree at U of T in September. Your school must nominate you, and each school can nominate only one student a year.

How to apply

  1. Step 1: Confirm your eligibility

Check that you're an international student finishing secondary school, or a recent graduate, and that you can start at U of T in September 2027.

  2. Step 2: Ask your school to nominate you

Speak to your guidance counsellor, principal or head of school, who must nominate you by 9 October 2026. Schools new to the programme must apply to join by noon EST that day.

  3. Step 3: Apply to U of T

Apply through OUAC to at least one U of T undergraduate programme by 16 October 2026. If you win, the scholarship applies only to your top-choice programme.

  4. Step 4: Complete the Pearson application

Use the private link you get after your nomination to complete the scholarship application and submit all documents by 6 November 2026. Using generative AI to write it leads to disqualification.

  5. Step 5: Upload your admission documents

Upload your transcripts and any other documents listed in the Join U of T applicant portal checklist.

  6. Step 6: Wait for the decision

In the previous cycle, scholars were told from the end of January, and all nominees had a decision by April.

Documents you will need

  • School nomination (submitted by your school)
  • U of T admission application through OUAC
  • Pearson scholarship application (via private link)
  • Secondary school transcripts
  • Proof of English proficiency, if required
  • Notarised translations of documents not in English or French

Typical list; the official guidance for your round is final.
