What it covers

Scholarships for the top-ranked applicants cover your participation costs (such as tuition fees) and contribute to travel, visa and living costs, for a 1–2 year master's taught by several universities in Europe and beyond.

Who can apply

  • Open to students from any country.
  • You need a bachelor's degree (first higher education degree) or a recognised equivalent level of learning, or must be in your final year and graduate before the master's starts.
  • You must meet the entry requirements of the programme you choose; each consortium sets its own.
  • You can't get an Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters scholarship if you've held one before.
  • Scholarships are awarded in full, and only for full-time study.
  • Not every programme in the catalogue offers EU-funded scholarships.

Good to know

Open to students from anywhere in the world who have a bachelor's degree, or will finish it before the master's starts. You apply directly to each programme, and each one sets its own entry requirements and scholarship selection.

How to apply

  1. Step 1: Find a programme

Search the Erasmus Mundus catalogue on the EACEA website and open the official website of each programme that interests you.

  2. Step 2: Check scholarships and requirements

On the programme's website, check its entry requirements, its deadline and whether it offers Erasmus Mundus scholarships for your intake. Some programmes no longer have EU funding.

  3. Step 3: Apply to the consortium

Apply directly to the programme, following its instructions for applying with a scholarship. There's no central EU application.

  4. Step 4: Go through its selection

The consortium selects students and ranks scholarship candidates itself. Scholarships go to the top-ranked applicants.

  5. Step 5: Sign the Student Agreement

If you're admitted, you sign a Student Agreement when you enrol. Each programme publishes its template on its website.
